Det Umeåbaserade skivbolaget / förlaget / managementet Nomethod startar en co-operativ, kollaborativ 2 dagars festival med sina artister.

Det är en tanke som har funnits en längre tid men som inte har kunnat testas förrän nu tack vare ett utomordentligt bra år.

- Man skulle kunna jämföra No Fest 13 med ATP Festivalen i England när det gäller själva grundtanken. Det handlar om en mycket mer avslappnad festival i campingmiljö & stadsmiljö, boende i stugor eller på själva campingen i tält. Det är en bra modell även om vår festival är eoner mindre.

Festivalens första dag hålls på Scharinska under en hel dag, det blir ett tight spelschema & musik hela dagen och kvällen. Den andra dagen i Tallbacken har en mycket friare form, här är tanken att man ska sudda ut avståndet mellan artister och besökare. Alla hänger med alla, inget backstageområde, inga ackrediteringar och en hyfsad fri & öppen scen, inga spikade speltider för banden som spelar hur länge eller hur kort dom vill.

- Vi kommer även ha föreläsningar under dagen, tex så kör Simian Ghost en introduktion i musikprogrammet Ableton. Det blir rätt så avslappnat med bad, grill och musik i en fantastisk miljö.

BIOGRAPHY

ÅBE started off with Pontus and Joel recording sounds in their rehersal place in Handen, Haninge, Sweden, strongly inspired by human wasteland, mankind’s egocentric worldview and its drive to grab whatever it believe belongs to it self and the world that will follow as a result of that. ÅBE had ten tracks recorded and released these as a homemade CDR with sandpaper cover through their website on March 5th 2011. The following day Nomethod Records got in touch and a digital sandpaper release was made the month after. To celebrate this, ÅBE did their first show supporting Iceage at Landet on April 8th 2011. The debut show was so successful that ÅBE decided to go on a European tour in June 2011. The tour started in Gothenburg at a bob hund afterparty, the second show was at a punk/rock venue in Leiden, Holland, the third was at a noise festival in Vivians concrete garage beneath his house in an industrial area outside of Lyon, France, and the fourth show was at a fine arts venue in Paris where the supporting act was a free jazz ensemble. And ÅBE made successful performances at all of these very different venues in front of very different audiences with very different musical tastes.

ÅBE has in the two years since the sandpaper album release made four other releases; Destruction Site on Swedish Midsummers Eve 2011, King Of Pellargonia on New Years Eve 2011/2012, Beyond Thunder Doom on Christmas Eve 2012, and a DVD featuring videos of all 13 songs on their album King Of Pellargonia. ÅBE toured Sweden with fellow labelmates Tennis Bafra and Soviac on the Släpp Sargen Tour during summer 2012. On this tour ÅBE’s live act grew more and more solid, and the best show is known to have been at the AQ Architects office in November 2012. ÅBE’s most recent release, Beyond Thunder Doom, was released on Christmas Eve and promoted with the unproven unsuccessful unrockbandlike method of “anti marketing”-marketing. ÅBE removed their web presence as much as possible after a three day long christmas oratorio taking place on ÅBE’s website.

ÅBE is since then dead and buried. Now comes the sequel; ÅBE2. ÅBE2 stands for renewal. ÅBE2 is Pernilla, Pontus, Nandor and Joel. Unpredictable, theatrical and upleasant scrap metal mixed with air raid alarm siren mixed with tennis and seagulls, all with a starting point in skew rock. ÅBE2 releases the 59 minutes and 27 songs long album IIDOABB on May 1st 2013, as a cassette version released by them selves, and a digital version through Nomethod Records. The show with Karpis at Fylkingen will not only be the release day of IIDOABB, but also the live premiere of ÅBE2.

Navet have been working hard this past year on new material, they have also signed with EMI during the process. Now it´s almost time for their new single to be released! “One hundred years, ten thousand beats” will be out on May 13th. It´s a electronic popgem that will be heard on dancefloors for the rest of 2013 for sure, it´s also Co Produced by Mats Norman from Lilla Sällskapet / Mashup International. Navet will play a string of shows in Sweden this spring & summer. Info below!

Monkeystrikes were formed in 2002 and they quit in 2006, during these years the band managed to record & release one album and one EP. The band was formed by former SOULS members Cecilia Nordlund and Johan Karlsson, you can describe their music as melodic indierock. They worked with producers Nathan Larsen (Shudder to think) and Nille Perned when they recorded their album & EP. Now it is time to re-release these jewels, we sincerely hope that these releases will find a new audience this time around. They deserve it.
